Day 1: Remove the exhaust.

I've decided to remove the exhaust and heat exchanger boxes before removing the engine. This will give me another 1" of ground clearance, and about 5" towards the read. Also, it makes reaching the engine mounting bolts easier as the heater boxes are no longer in the way.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy working on cars. My regular job is performed entirely inside my head and this rebuild is giving me an outlet for using my hands again. There is a lot to be said about keeping your hands busy. I'm going to add some dirt and grease to the business and see where that takes me.

One man's travel around the world in a VW

Started reading about this man and his bug, Jerry. I feel inspired. I may take a trip at the end of this rebuild.

God, VW's, and Buffalo

Hello to anyone who might have found this space. This is going to be my personal parking space for my projects, thoughts, and odds and ends about living in Buffalo. I'm attempting to rebuild a 71 Beetle convertible so that will dominate the blog for the next month or so. However, I will probably post a random musing from time to time. Enjoy.
